The Sistas Calling crew brought the anti-violence message to the streets at the Toronto Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade in Dr. Roz's "Love Of Carnival" section with E.P.I.C. CARNIVAL for #Passion2023
Most often people associate Carnival with scantily-clad women and the assumption that anyone can touch, photograph and dance on them but NO! In truth, Carnival represents expression, joy, culture, beauty, and most importantly, FREEDOM FROM OPPRESS!ON!

To play mas' is to respect the mas' , which means respect the culture and respect WOMEN! Carnival is meant to be a safe space for all, free from all forms of violence. It was a joy to see so much beauty and joy the road this weekend.
