The I Am Free Purse is a one-of-a-kind genuine blue and purple leather purse custom designed and hand-crafted by Story Time Leather, an upcoming local artisan. The artwork was inspired by Dr. Roz's ideas regarding social issues and Freedom, and a demand for change and triumph over violence and racism. Dr. Roz is an adamant supporter of local independent artists and artisans.
The purse features a blue and purple bird against a vibrant sun, cloud, and stars, all hand carved and painted. "I AM FREE" and "FREEDOM" purple lettering is handstitched on the cover and strap. The blue leather shoulder piece is suspended by a silver chain, making it both a comfortable and stylish piece for day wear or an evening out. The back of the purse has an extra slide pocket in purple leather, for a bit of extra storage. This piece comes with a collection of teddy bear, heart, and rope charms. Strap and charms are adjustable.
I Am Free is inspired by the Sistas Calling soundtrack, Dr. Roz and Sistas. Sistas Calling is an anti-violence anti-racism music dance theatre production that tells the story of a woman's survival, healing, and transformation. The album, Dr. Roz & Sistas features ten original tracks filled with anthems that examine social issues, demand change, and celebrate triumph.
